Revised 2023 BMW X7 G07 arrives

A new 2023 BMW X7 G07 has landed boasting the brand's latest design language both inside and out, new engines and the largest wheels ever found on a BMW.

The X7 – BMW's flagship X model which seats seven – has been around since 2018 and so now it is due a tip and a tuck. The new version delivers styling showcasing the latest BMW design language with enhanced standard equipment, additional driver assistance systems and 48V mild hybrid technology for all engine variants for the first time. There's also a new M Performance model and – for the first time on a BMW – whopping 23-inch wheels.

On the outside the changes are relatively mild, split headlight units work as both daytime driving lights and main headlights, the daytime lights also operate as indicators. It's all quite similar to the new 7 Series you've just read about over the page, actually. The updated front-end design also showcases BMW's signature kidney grille, the «Iconic Glow» grille is standard across the range, it features cascade lighting for the two grille elements. The rear end design has also been revised with three-dimensional light units. And, the new X7 sees the largest wheels offered on a BMW to date, 23-inch rims are available as a factory fit option for the first time.

It probably goes without saying that space inside is generous, as the name suggests the X7 seats seven occupants and it does so in style. The new interior features the BMW Curved Display – a new instrument panel including an ambient light bar in its lower section. Comfort seats, upholstered in BMW Individual Extended Merino Leather, come as standard, with heating for both driver and front passenger, alongside the four-zone automatic climate control system, ambient lighting and a panoramic glass sunroof.

The new X7 is available in a choice of Excellence, M Sport and M Performance versions – combined with powerful yet efficient six- and eight-cylinder engines, a new eight-speed Steptronic Sport transmission, state-of-the- art chassis technology and BMW xDrive intelligent all-wheel drive. Top of the range is the potent V8-powered M60i xDrive. A total of 14 exterior colour shades will be available from launch, including the new Sparkling Copper Grey metallic variant. This grey tone is complemented by copper particles which generate vivid effects when light hits the car's body. The range of exterior colours also contains the M Marina Bay Blue metallic shade available exclusively for the X7 M60i xDrive. In addition to the standard colour palate, an additional 40 or so hand applied BMW Individual colours are available on request.

Produced at BMW Group Plant Spartanburg, a facility powered by renewable sources, the new X7 also focuses on sustainability. Many parts, including the air ducts for the heating and cooling systems, are made from 50 percent recycled plastic, while others – such as the cable channels and luggage compartment trim – are made from entirely recycled plastic. The new BMW X7 is priced from £80,980 RRP and is available to order now from BMW retailers nationwide.
