Jaguar E-Type cappings and check straps

Suitable for the E-type Series 1 and 2, SNG Barratt is now manufacturing to order, new cappings and sockets for the top of the windscreen pillars. Produced in stainless steel 17-4PH with a polished finish, SNGB says these parts are harder wearing and look great, but they may differ slightly to other areas of the car with a chrome finish. A single right-hand pillar capping (part number BD15508) costs £27.05 including VAT, whereas a pair (part number BD15508/9) is £51.16 including VAT and an early type pair (part number BD15508/9E) costs £145.14 including VAT.

SNGB has also recently started manufacturing an improved door check strap made from spring steel with nylon buffers and a micro carbon fibre infill. SNGB says that the geometry of the buffer has also been modified so the action is muchmore satisfying when in situ. Suitable for the E-Type Series 1 and 2, a single door check strap (part number BD22662) costs £27 including VAT, whereas one with a brass cam (part number BD22662B) costs £45.36 including VAT. There’s also a check strap for the 2+2 models (Series 1-3), which costs £34.70 including VAT (part number BD27794).
