TechArt introduces new powerkit upgrade programme for Porsche 911 GTS 992

More powerful, more dynamic and more individual. This is how TECHART describes its new power package for the 992 GTS. The exclusive customisation programme offers an increase in engine output of almost 80bhp, taking peak performance to 552bhp, with a boost of almost 74lb-ft torque from the brand’s model-specific Powerkit (product number TA092/S1.1).

The sprint from zero to 62mph is achieved in just 3.1 seconds, some 0.3 seconds quicker than standard. Top speed rises to 198.84mph. A push of a button or a turn of the steering wheel-mounted drive-mode rotary dial is all it takes to bring the power upgrade to life — TECHART’s 992 GTS Powerkit is active in Sport and Sport Plus mode. With the Normal driving mode selected, the GTS continues to make use of its factory-prescribed performance.

As you’d expect, the company has launched a range of spectacular GTS styling updates to accompany the new Powerkit. To this end, buyers can take advantage of Formula VII centrelock ‘turbine’ lightweight wheels measuring twenty inches in diameter at the nose and twenty-one at the tail. For GTS owners who prefer a five-hole connection to the hub, TECHART’s popular Daytona II and Formula V designs are available, each with a choice of custom colours and finishes.

AN INCREASE IN ENGINE OUTPUT OF 80BHP, TAKING PEAK PERFORMANCE TO 552BHP

The wind tunnel-tested GTS Aerokit consists of front spoiler, air outlet grille, splitter, covers, side skirts and rear diffuser add-on. There’s a new carbon-fibre ‘frunk’, too. Tipping scales at just 6.7kg, the panel is a significant 2.5kg lighter than the standard factory part it replaces and can be ordered with or without integrated air shafts. Looking at the photos on this page, it’s clear TECHART’s intention is to ensure adopters of this Aerokit are seen driving a GTS which is very clearly not as it left the factory.

Airflow is directed from the bespoke profiled roof spoiler to one of two rear spoiler variants. The first is the elegant TECHART Rear Spoiler I, featuring an aerodynamic lip spoiler and retaining the active aero functions of the base GTS. The second is the future classic TECHART Rear Spoiler II — we would love to have been a fly on the wall during the production meeting where these products were named — making use of Makrolon wing supports and incorporating the boot lid, brake light and integrated intercooler openings for effective temperature control.

The TECHART nose lift system offers additional ground clearance of 40mm at the touch of a button (where the host 911 is not equipped with a factory lift system), while the TECHART suspension coilover spring set meets the demands of the highest performance requirements and enables lowering of ride height between 15mm and 40mm. Importantly, the front spring set can be used on a 992 GTS with or without Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), a front axle lift system and Sport suspension. Reassuringly, TECHART offers professional fitting from its headquarters in Leonberg, Germany, where the company’s technicians will also calibrate your GTS’s sensors and camera systems following installation. Can’t travel that far? GTS owners in the UK are encouraged to contact TECHART agents, Tech9 and Parr Performance, for sales and installation.
