BMW F30 335i M Sport Saloon Practical

Sports Saloon F30 335i M Sport Saloon Practical, fast, tuneable, and great to drive. This generation of BMW’s 335i is arguably the best – and it is affordable too...

Six-cylinder petrol 3 Series have always held a bit of a soft spot in our hearts and the F30 in 335i guise is undoubtedly one of BMW’s finest. And in an era when diesel 3 Series started to predominate the 335i found itself a more exclusive choice, bought more by private buyers than fleet managers.

Manufactured from 2012 to 2015 and powered by BMW’s more durable 2979cc turbocharged N55 engine, standard factory cars were good for 300hp. And with 300lbft of torque available all the way from 1300- 5000rpm rapid acceleration felt almost effortless in every gear. The engine sounds great under throttle too, dispatching the benchmark 0-62mph dash in just 5.7-seconds. And whether you choose a six-speed manual or a smooth eight-speed automatic transmission the top speed is limited to 155mph.

Eventually replaced by the B58-powered 340i in 2015, our twenty grand budget could put you behind the wheel of one of the best2014 or 2015 examples – with a lower than average mileage.

Like the White 44k-mile 2014 64-reg 335i M Sport for sale for £19,995 at Top Gear Stoke Ltd (tgscarsales.co.uk). An automatic with a full BMW service history, 18-inch M2 CS alloys, an M3 rear differential, M4 brakes and a stage 2 remap, it looks to be in mint condition.

It comes sold with 12 month’s MoT and three month’s warranty, the rather impressive specification also includes black Dakota leather upholstery, climate control, BMW Professional DAB radio/sat nav with CD player and MP3, Bluetooth, cruise control, comfort closing, front and rear PDC and green tinted heat protection glass so it ticks boxes.
